I have rediscovered a show from when I was little that takes place in Providence, on the East Side. It’s called “providence” and lasted from 99 until 2002. It’s a really stupid show about a sassy plastic surgeon who moves from California back to Providence after her overbearing mother passes away. She comes back and attempts to help out her dysfunctional family, while working as a doctor at rhode island hospital. The opening sequence is really the best part of the show. Its a slow montage of images in the city/ the east side, with “In My Life” being played..a crappy cover of it.. but nonetheless it is in the show. If you aren’t from providence then there really isn’t any point in watching it, because it’s just THAT bad.. I have no idea how it lasted for five seasons.. it’s your typical crappy daytime t.v series. But the fact that it takes place in and is shot in Providence, makes it very enjoyable to watch. I shall be downloading the seasons of it asap.
